Fellow Programme in Management Overview

The Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) is a doctoral-level programme with the objective to transform the candidates into high-quality academicians, researchers, and management thinkers by providing an opportunity for interdisciplinary education and research in management. The programme structure includes a significant component of training in research and teaching, facilitated by both in-house and visiting researchers. At the same time, their skills are enhanced by involving them in various professional and academic activities. RBS supports participation in national and international academic conferences and publication of one’s work in scholarly media. The candidate is expected to complete the programme in 5 years. RBS supports Research Fellowship to the candidates on monthly basis for 5 years. Besides RBS also provides research grants to attend conferences and purchase office stationery. Last but not least, RBS offers Visiting Scholar Program (VSP) for 10 months wherein candidates visit any reputed institute/university abroad for the specified period to strengthen their research work.

Approved By

The FPM programme has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), a statutory body of the Government of India responsible for accrediting all postgraduate and graduate programs, under specific categories of technology for Indian institutions.

Duration

The Program of five years duration is divided into 5 academic years. Each academic year comprises two semesters namely Semester I and Semester II of 16 weeks duration. The semester-wise program consists of a prescribed set of courses. Each course offered during the first academic year is generally allotted 33 classroom sessions of 1hour each.

Eligibility
  • The applicant must have completed a master’s degree or equivalent in Engineering and Technology/ Management/ Economics/ Social Science/ Biological Science/ Pure Science/ Commerce/ Humanities from any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India, or an equivalent qualification from an institution approved by AICTE.
  • The applicant should have a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale and not be more than 55 years of age as of 1st December 2021.
  • Candidates who have qualified UGC/CSIR Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) shall be directly called for an Interview and Presentation. All other candidates must clear Rajagiri Research Aptitude Test
Financial Support
  • Institute Research Fellowship: Rs. 40,000/- pm till registration & Rs. 50,000/- pm after successful registration till thesis submission
  • US$ 1000 - 1500 per month stipend for students going abroad under visiting scholar program.
  • A one-time contingency grant of US$ 750
  • Rs. 15,000/ per conference for presenting a paper at a national conference

At RBS, FPM candidates are allowed to change an area of research work subject to the availability of full-time faculty to guide him/ her in the new area of research work.

RBS boasts an extremely student-friendly campus and FPM candidates get access to the Institute’s library and computer network and are assigned a workspace, fitted with computers, telephones, air-conditioning, and so many modern facilities that are part of the institute.

Established in the year 2008, Rajagiri Business School (RBS) is part of the Rajagiri Group of Institutions and functions as an autonomous institution. The business school is located in the Rajagiri Valley in Kakkanad, close to the IT hub of Kochi, Infopark and to the integrated business township, SmartCity Kochi.
